As the leader of Genesis, he invented Art Rock. Since leaving the band in 1975, Gabriel (along with Paul Simon and David Byrne) has pioneered World Music, combining influences from Africa, South America, North America and Europe to produce a new art form, unlimited by political, geographical or cultural boundaries.
